Diesel fuels will invariably form small amounts of hard, carbonaceous deposits on  fuel 
injector nozzles of all diesel engine types.  This process persists throughout the lifetime 
of the nozzles. A detergent can be used as a preventative measure, especially used in conjunction with demulsifiers.
